Malwarebytes is a wonderful product however it has some flaws that prevent it from being a great option for all users. For instance, it costs more than some of its competitors for one device subscription. Its also not quite as robust as other devices in terms of features.
Malwarebytes provides multiple layers of security including web protection and ransomware protection. It also provides malware and adware security as well as detection and removal. It also has strong real-world protection capabilities, with results in AV Comparatives tests that consistently place it among the top software in its class (August 2022 – October 2022).
Paid subscribers have access to all of these features and more. They can manage the settings of the software by clicking the corkscrew icon located in the right-hand corner of their dashboard. The tab has seven sections where you can modify the program to meet your requirements. These include notifications, the frequency and in what circumstances it checks for threat intelligence updates and scan options, as well as other preferences for visuals, including the theme.
The premium version of the software has advanced features such as exploit protection, which blocks attacks that take advantage of bugs and vulnerabilities in software and systems. Malwarebytes also blocks browser lockers, blocks in-browser cryptojackers, as well as halts other scams that attempt take your personal information or money online. It also identifies and block phishing websites. It’s unfortunate that it doesn’t offer the kind of identity theft protection that some of its competitors do, but that should be changing soon, as it recently purchased Cyrus Security, a company which offers these services.
